Because our area is so large and diverse, we need a mechanism to motivate, to build relationships and to take action at a local level. These are our River Associations.
Each Association carries out invaluble work including carrying out habitat surveys, obtaining landowner consents, identifying invasive non-native species, controlling exploitation levels, compile catchment returns to suppliment EA returns and much more. Local contacts, knowledge and responsibility are crucial to the work South Cumbria Rivers Trust does.
Our River Associations are:
- The Coniston and Crake Partnership
- The River Bela
- Duddon River Assocation
- The Rivers Kent and Gilpin
- The River Leven
