The Kent Invasive Plants Action Group is a volunteer initiated and led project to eradicate primarily Himalayan Balsam from the River Kent focusing currently on the Kent and its tributaries to the North of Kendal. Removal is by either pulling or strimming or combination. Work parties are held from May to September. In addition we report Giant Hogweed and Japanese Knotweed to SCRT. The project has been supported for the last three years by the South Cumbria Rivers Trust and with financial help from the Environment Agency.
