Who we are

The South Cumbria Rivers Trust team comprises a group of enthusiastic people who are dedicated to conserving and protecting the freshwater habitats and wildlife of the local area.  We are professionals, trustees, patrons, friends, volunteers and motivated people who care!

South Cumbria Rivers Trust’s objectives are:

  1. To monitor, conserve and protect and when necessary rehabilitate and improve biodiversity of the lakes, rivers and streams of South Cumbria including adjacent waters for the public benefit.
  2. To advance the education of the public, companies and public bodies in:
    • The understanding of the lakes and rivers including their fauna, flora, socio-economic and amenity value and the management of the water.
    • The need for, and benefit of, conservation, protection, rehabilitation and improvement of the aquatic environment.

South Cumbria Rivers Trust is registered in England and Wales as a company limited by guarantee (Company Registration No. 5763380). It is a registered Charity (No 1114682) with the registered office and work offices at The Refinery, The Clocktower, Low Wood, Haverthwaite, Ulverston, Cumbria. LA12 8LY.
